1999 GPI Champ Tom LaFrance gives some pointers on how to repair ball marks, just moments before the start of the 2000 GPI.

Ha Ha Ha !!

Just making sure you're paying attention.

Anyone who witnesses a GPI golfer hitting a green in a way that requires a ball-mark repair should immediately bring this to the attention of the strokes committee for a handicap review.)

John Meehan

A contender after Day 1, the GPI rookie did not finish round 2. This is likely to result in a punitive handicap by the Strokes Committee in 2001.

Tom "Sals" Childs

A GPI co-founder, Sals was granted a GPI dispensation for skipping round 2 in order to take one of those 72-hour bean counting tests. Hope it went well, Sals!!

Tom "Mondo" Mondani

Mondo was MIA for his second consecutive GPI, an unusual lapse by the GPI die-hard.

Fortunately for Mondo, John "Cell Phone" Clavin was also MIA, which saved Mondo from erasing four hours of colorful messages from his answering machine on Saturday morning.

Meet the golf ball that survived

two full GPI rounds!!

Mark Mayock rode the Jitney to GPI Fame by becoming the first person in recorded GPI history** to complete both rounds with the same golf ball.

** Note: Before all you GPI scorecard archivists start sending in complaints like "I used the same ball in '88," please note that such claims must be verified by the GPI Multi-Media Sub-Committee by the end of Day 2 before gracing the hallowed pages of the GPI website.
